>Thank you for all the concern and good wishes. I don’t know what my blogging, or life capabilities will be, but keyboarding is one thing I can do. My thinking…..well you let me know.
Brain surgery was 2 months ago. Prognosis is not good, but here I am blogging again.
Having brain cancer, I question my mental abilities. My lack of confidence disappears as I listen to the rants of conservatism from some Republican elected officials. Seems it’s some of these Republican dummies, that need parts of their brains removed.
The President is frustrating conservatives with his good results as President. The more these nut jobs reach for something to attack the President, the loonier they sound. It’s fun to watch and listen to the attacks, especially since the attacks are aimed at decisions where the President truly considers people, not just building political power, wealth, or corporate priorities.
Of course BP should pay! Who else is responsible? The idea that a corporations financial security is more important than their responsibility to repair the damage they have done to the Earth, is laughable. Isn’t “being responsible” a Republican catch all phrase? It’s about time an American President made it clear, that America is for people first, not corporations.
As one who cares about what happens to my country, I have been frustrated since Reagan became President. Watching the country go bankrupt has been depressing. Knowing how hard previous generations of Americans have sacrificed to build this country, only to have a few selfish politicians bring us to financial ruin.
The power money has to motivate decisions in a free market to supply people with their needs, is not the same motivation that should be used to motivate the decisions of our legislators. The only motivation for legislation that rules over people in a free society, is what’s best for the people. A fair standard to determine which rules apply, is by majority vote.
History is the best judge of most things, especially political issues. Americans judge differently now the decisions of Reagan/Bush financial and military decisions. Ah yes, hindsight is 20/20.
The same will be true of President Obama. Knowing what I know now, I believe History will judge Obama as a good President. Since the negative effects of Regan/Bush decisions will last for decades, History will judge them harshly. Rightfully so.
They took pictures of my brain surgery. Would you like to see them? I’m waiting for some dip conservative to crack about my liberalism leading to brain cancer.
>Tom so good to hear from you!! I hope you are feeling well, we've been praying! As usual your brain is working perfectly in your analysis of the workings in Washington and around our country. Lots of things going on at once keeping us on our toes. I pray you will be around for a long long time and will witness the fall of the rethug party! It's coming Tom!
>As I said on another blog, I'm thrilled you are back.Your brain seems to be going great guns. You wouldn't be the first to post xrays of your brain. Elizabeth, who contributes to The Swash Zone and owns The Middle of Nowhere just published photos of hers.http://nowherethemiddle.blogspot.com/2010/05/desperately-seeking-brains.htmlPersonally I would like to hear more about this whole process. I didn't even know you were having surgery. Just recently I took you off my blog roll. Today it was a pleasure to put you back on there. Had I known about the surgery I would have been confident that you would be back sharing you wisdom.
>Delighting in the pain, misery and suffering of others is a fundamental building block of conservatism.I wish you good health and complete remission.
>Grung: I hope you're not implying that I'm delighting in the pain of others.
>Thanks everyone!tnlib,I wrote a little about my situation on my New Years post. I expected to go in sooner for the surgery. I have a level 4 astrocytoma(sp). My mother died of the same thing, but doctors swear it's not genetic(HA).In my case the cancer was in one lump mass, so surgery was helpful. If it comes back (and the odds are 75-25 it will (what do they know) then it would depend on whether, or not the cancer would be in another lump mass, or spider web throughout the brain. The later is not operable, just terminal.Sue,Keep fighting the retards! Your my favorite lib blogger!
>Tom,Hearing from you has been a breath of fresh air ol' buddy ol' pal!I was about to give up hope about blogging and I was just going to let the conservatives have the damn world…But to know that you are still kicking and fighting then by God, I will continue to kick and fight!
>Thanks, Tom. I missed your New Year's Post, so really didn't know what you were facing. Notice I put that in the past tense. I think it will be thumbs up from here – for you and for TAO.
>Tom my prayers and positive thoughts are with you in your fight, keep up the good fight!!Thanks for saying I'm your fav, with the talent that's out there, my amateur blog writing is sometimes a little embarrassing for me, but a good friend told me when I first started to write like I was talking at the kitchen table. So, that's what I do!As each passing day you get stronger, I hope you'll come by, I miss your comments alot! TTYL Tom!
>Tom,I am also very happy to hear your voice again out here in the blogosphere. Your scathingly brilliant post assures me that whatever has been cut out of your brain has not affected your intelligence one bit.I'm sorry the prognosis isn't more definitively positive, but my own philosophy is to simply live until I die – whenever that might be.And since I do not know when that will be, having the best day possible, being with people I love and cherish and enjoying all the gifts Mother Earth has to offer is the order of every day.Since I want to insure that my grandchildren are able to do the same, fighting the oppressive darkness from the right is part of my focus, but I believe in balance in all things. So, Tom, keep amazing us with your sharp, well researched posts but don't forget to step outside and feel the sunshine on your face or smell the air before the rain or laugh with a friend – those things are important too.Send you warm hugs and healthy thoughts.Rocky
>Tom: I've been out of the loop for a little bit lately, just got back in tonight, as a matter of fact.I think of you often and I'm so glad to see that you're back, too!I'm happy to hear that your surgery went well and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it was a complete success! You deserve it!
